About the Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Industry Association
The Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Industry Association (HKECIA) was established in 1990 to promote Hong Kong as a world-class exhibition and conference destination and the trade fair capital of Asia Pacific. It works to represent the interests of all members involved in the exhibition and convention industries, and provides a unified voice in dealing with the government, legislative and statutory bodies, the media and public organisations, on all matters associate with the role of the exhibition and convention industry in Hong Kong’s economy.
HISTORY
The Association started out as the Hong Kong Exhibition Organisers Association which was founded in May 1990 by 10 major exhibition organisers.

To raise levels of professionalism and operational standards in the industrythrough well-planned training and educational programmes.

HKECIA Exclusive Member Social: Networking at Tai Kwun’s Hidden Bar
Join fellow industry leaders for an intimate social gathering at 001 Bar, Hong Kong’s legendary original hidden speakeasy, nestled inside Tai Kwun. Known for its classy Art Deco vibe and meticulously crafted drinks, it provides the perfect atmosphere to unwind over fine beverages and light bites, share fresh industry insights, and build meaningful professional relationships away from the usual conference rooms. During the site visit, members will gain valuable first-hand knowledge of the operational mechanics, logistics management, and site capabilities behind running themed events, arts exhibitions, and commercial showcases within a repurposed historic landmark.

Poorly managed exhibitions can generate large amounts of waste, consume large amounts of energy, and contribute to
greenhouse gas emissions. By adopting sustainable practices, exhibition companies can reduce their environmental impact
and contribute to the global effort to combat climate change.
By signing this charter, HKECIA members can demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and set an example for other businesses to follow. It can also help to create a culture of sustainability within the exhibition industry in Hong Kong, which can ultimately lead to a more sustainable future for all.
