The
First Asian Exhibition Forum - "a meeting for the industry
after SARS" will be held in Hong Kong on 28 August 2003. The
event is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention
Industry Association (HKECIA), Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), Hong
Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Union of International
Fairs (UFI), with the full support from the Hong Kong SAR Government.
The Forum will also be supported by all the important exhibition
associations in Asia and venue associations, such as China Exhibition
Centres Association, the World Council for Venue Management, and
Asia Pacific Exhibition and Convention Council.
As SARS is now
contained in Asia, it is an optimal time for the sharing of experience
among professionals in Asia to keep the exhibition industry moving
forward with "comeback" plans and strategies.
We will have
representatives of the Asian exhibition associations to give country / city
reports with focus on their revival plans and actions for the coming
six months. A primary objective of the Forum is to formulate ideas
for long-term co-operation in the industry among businesses in Asian
countries and regions. We anticipate to have over 150 delegates
from China and other Asian countries to the Forum on top of the
members of UFI who will attend the UFI Asian Pacific Chapter meeting
in Hong Kong on 27 August and our Forum on 28 August. All delegates
to the Forum will be invited to join a leisure tour to the 120,000
sq. m. exhibition centre under construction in Shenzhen on 29 August.
We welcome you to join this very important event and to demonstrate
the solidarity of the industry in Asia.
All international delegates will be provided with favourable and
discounted hotel accommodation and travel package to Hong Kong.

I look forward
to seeing you all at the upcoming Asian Exhibition Forum.
